Here is a list of all scientists who spent some time in the Sidoli lab. This includes rotation students and short-term researchers. The order is from the most recent to the oldest.

2024

Javier Janer

Javier rotated in our lab in the fall of 2024. He is now doing his PhD in Dr. Kartik Chandran (Einstein) studying emerging RNA virus entry.

Andreina Wu

Andreina is a high school student who worked in the Sidoli lab in the summer of 2024

Agnese razzoli

Agnese was a visiting PhD student from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. She worked in the Sidoli lab in the spring and summer of 2024.

Andrew ames

Andrew is a high school student who worked in the Sidoli lab in the summer of 2024

Yan Sun

Yan has been working as a postdoc in our team for about three years. He developed "Protein oxidative footprinting" for higher order structure analysis and mapping the protein-protein or protein-nucleic acid interfaces. He also developed new methods for glycomics and DNA modification analysis. Now he works at Relay Therapeutics (Boston).

Ankita Poojari

Ankita was a visitor PhD student coming from the lab of Dr. Atefeh Rabiee's lab at the University of the Pacific. Her project focused on understanding pathophysiology of Lipedema, a chronic fat disorder exclusively affecting women.

2023

Edward Nieves

Eddie was the Assistant Director of the Proteomics Core. He has helped so many labs with their proteomics and small-molecule projects by designing the experiment, optimizing the analysis and with data interpretation. He can fix everything around here!

Laura Corveleyn

Laura worked in the Sidoli lab as an exchange PhD student from the Lab of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Ghent University (Belgium). She worked in the proteomics department led by Dr. Maarten Dhaenens. She graduated in 2020 from Ghent University with a Masters in Drug Development, after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her research project in our lab focused on single cell proteomics and analysis of the chromatin proteome of centenarians.

Julie Kim

Julie worked in the Sidoli lab as a research technician for two years between July 2021 and 2023. During her stay, she worked on projects related to oxidation footprinting, identification of resistant strains of Klebsiella using mass spectrometry, and helping the Kass lab with heart disease proteomics projects. She is also a cello master!

Cassia Michael

Cassia rotated with us during her first year, before joining the Sofia de Oliveira lab. She graduated in 2020 from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics. Cassia is currently studying how inflammation and injury impact neutrophil behavior and migration. During her rotation in the Sidoli lab she learned mass spectrometry and data analysis. She is interested in identifying proteins that may be involved in neutrophil recruitment and wound response.

2022

Yukta Shah

Yukta joined the lab as summer rotation from the Edgemont Junior/Senior High School. She is very interested in pursuing genetics and cell biology in her future scientific endeavors in college and beyond. She is also passionate about advocating for mental health issues and enjoys playing tennis in her free time!

Xinyi (Zoe) Zhang

Xinyi (Zoe) Zhang joined the lab as summer rotation from the Great Neck South High School. She had prior lab experience working with POSS Summer Open Research Study on the 2003 SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, Urban Barcode Research Program (UBRP) on antibiotic resistance of bacteria on masks and is a member of the school’s research team. She is also the founder and president of an environmental club: Long Island Green Defenders, leading efforts to connect high schoolers to volunteer and work with local environmental organizations. In addition to science, she is also passionate about music, boxing, and business. She has been playing piano for 12 years and is currently studying under the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Program.

Elizabeth Weyer

Elizabeth was a rotation student in our lab until June 2022. She worked on optimizing the portable ClinoStar to demonstrate that 3D spheroids and tissue biopsies can be transported without them suffering damage. She now works in Dr. Louis Weiss lab (Einstein).

Laxmi Narayan Mishra

Laxmi has extensive experience in chromatin biochemistry. He has used in vitro assembled nucleosomes to solve various chromatin-related mysteries. He only worked briefly with us, to then move to a new position as Senior Scientist at Regeneron.

2021

Steven Grudman

Steven rotated with us in the summer of 2021. He is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Andras Fiser (Einstein).

Megan DeMouth

Megan rotated with us in early 2021. She is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Kartik Chandran (Einstein).

Kristen Jew

Kristen worked with us in early 2021, rotating in the same period as Ronnie. She is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Tyler Grove (Einstein).

Lanette LaComb

Lanette rotated with us in late 2020. She is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Steven Almo (Einstein).

2020

Isaac Krasnopolsky

Isaac is an MD/PhD student who worked with us in 2020. He is now a student in the lab of Dr. David Shechter (Einstein).

Karl ROberts

Karl worked with us in the summer of 2020. He is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Eric Bouhassira (Einstein).

Georgia Fallon

Georgia rotated with us in the spring of 2020. Unfortunately, the COVID lockdown made the rotation very short. Now, she joined the lab of Dr. Jon Lai (Einstein) for her PhD.

Jake Lachowicz

Jake rotated with us in the winter of 2019-2020. He is now a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Tyler Grove (Einstein).
